Pizza Slut — Pink Lane Exclusive
You cannot get these pizzas at Dean Street. The Full Council (£13) is a 12″ loaded with bacon, sausage, mushrooms, beans and brown sauce — a full English in pizza form. The Cheeseburger Pizza (£13) stacks beef, fried onions, pickles, melted cheese, burger sauce and fresh lettuce on a tomato base. For something more left-field, the Council Clucking Curry (£13) uses curry sauce as its base, topped with crispy chicken, peppers, red onion, mint yogurt, mango chutney and lime. The Mad Veg (£12) proves you can be good(ish) — roasted peppers, goat's cheese and chilli oil on a tomato base. And if you're skipping straight to dessert territory, the Want S'more? pizza (£10) is chocolate, marshmallow and berry — nut free. Purists: classics are covered from £12 with margarita, pepperoni, ham and BBQ chicken.
Council Cooks — Newcastle Street Food Icons
Pink Lane runs the full Council Cooks menu. The legendary Council Tapas (£22) — chicken dinos, nuggets, fish fingers, fries, smiley faces and beans — is here, as is the Spud Deluxe (£18). The Cheeseburger Fries (£9.50) are exclusive to Pink Lane: mad fries with spiced beef, fried onion, pickle, melted cheese and burger sauce. The Pot Noodle Sarnie (£9) is exactly what it sounds like — a pot noodle toasted inside a sandwich, served with fries — and it is magnificent.
